Two volunteers from Slovakia will toke part in the project: “Developing skills for the better tomorrow”, which toke place in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia during 10 months. The general aim of the activity was the social inclusion of disabled children and youth who are patronized by Veras - organization for children and youth with physical disability and autism in Nizhniy Novgorod. It included, first of all, giving them an opportunity to communicate with young people out of their families, because in the regular life they have contacts only with parents and specialists. The next point necessary to do for such children and youth was opening for them non-formal and informal developmental programs. And, finally, such children need an individual long-term support to achieve any visible progress in their development. Volunteers were involved into everyday activities of day-care center for disabled children. Using their own past experience and skills and knowledge, volunteers were able to bring them into action carrying out this EVS project as well as acquire new skills and competences, growing personally and professionally.
