The ideal of the united people of Europe is collapsing. The economic crisis in the south of our continent, the conflict in Ukraine, the challenges of migration ... are creating growing discord among the people from different countries. Today, more than ever, it is necessary to weave in our continent a bridges network between east and west, between north and south. Bridges that promote cultural dialogue between nationalities to combat old and new prejudices that inevitably lead to discrimination and xenophobia. We, the youth, want to contribute to this mutual understanding. That is why we propose DemoLink as volunteering project seeking thefollowing objectives:-Promote intercultural dialogue between young people from countries among which there are marked stereotypes-Open a practical debate about what actually means to be a European citizen and eventually should mean.-Explore formulas and examples of youth participation in political, media and educational processes.-Promote an enriching cultural exchange in the region of Ferrolterra.-Equip our volunteers with the necessary skills to deal with cultural differences in a positive and constructive manner. We believe that the best way to work for the achievement of these goals is through 3 EVS mobilities enabling at least 100 people from the region of Ferrolterra value in a positive way the cultural wealth of our continent while developing common projects. To do so they will develop linguistic tandems, talks in high schools, cultural activities, concerts and, as well, they will collaborate in the volunteer projects undertaken by Xeración. In this way volunteers will be immersed in the Galician culture while developing linguistic, cultural and project skills that will help them integrate into the labour market at the end of the project.DemoLink waves leave behind can be seen in the development of competences (specially intercultural ones) of our volunteers, in the strengthening of a network of associations working in understanding between the different cultures of Europe and a fruitful cultural exchange in a area as homogeneous as the region of Ferrolterra.
