Project „Deep in Progress“ is orientated to international long-term volunteering. Participants from foreign countries will come to Lithuanian town Marijampolė where volunteering projects have never been implemented. The idea for this project arose when we noticed that in our institution it is possible to develop knowledge, competences and skills like project management, design and visual art, communication, events, and IT not only for young people from Marijampolė or whole Lithuania but also international youth. Four volunteers from various countries will join our team during this project. These people will act and work in the areas of their interest where they will gain useful experience by using non-formal methods. The participants of this project are young people who have recently graduated their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and want to test themselves by volunteering in a foreign country and gaining new and necessary experience. It is expected that by the end of this project volunteers will be able to behave independently, complete tasks and activities in those areas where they have been volunteering. Besides, during the project the information about volunteers’ and our expression, joyful moments, achieved results and newly learnt knowledge will be publicly available online. All knowledge, competences and skills that volunteers will acquire or develop during this project will be very useful for the development of similar projects or trying to achieve high career goals.
