Daugavpils Secondary School No.13 was founded in 1972 and now there are 714 students (School year 2015-2016). The school realizes four training programs. There is a music bias at school. Our students and teachers participate in local, national and international contests and festivals. Thanks to the contests and international projects we broaden our contacts with foreign partners and colleagues. To develop teaching methods, improve students’ learning motivation and improve the internationalization of the school five teachers (chemistry and natural science, music, maths, computer studies and English) will take part in the project “Professional Development of the Teachers of Daugavpils Secondary School No.13”. They will go to CLIL course in the United Kingdom (ADC College in London), „eLearning 2.0 & Social Media” (AcrossLimits in Malta), “Teaching through video making: creating and adapting visual resources. tt.vm” (Euro Pass Teacher Training Centre in Italy), "Action Methods Improving Motivation and Quality in Learning Environments" (European Bridges Consulting in Portugal). The aim of our project is to improve methodological base and internationalization work in our school using European colleagues’ knowledge and experience. Our objectives are:1. To develop professional skills of the teaching staff;2. To improve foreign language skills of the teachers and students;3. To encourage students’ learning motivations;4. To promote the participation of the school in internationalization sphere. To realize the project successfully the following main activities are planned: 1) project management – filling in documents, realizing of the aim, communication with the administration and financial body, control, final report; 2) preparation – participants’ preparation for the training, language skills testing and improving, instructing, insurance, agreements; 3) learning mobility – travelling and accommodation ensuring, communication with participants ensuring, help, feedback; 4) post mobility periods – evaluation of results, dissemination, applying of new skills and knowledge in the work. The teachers will acquire new methodological approaches, language environment will improve communicational skills, will get new experience in pedagogy, methodology, will share experience with their foreign colleagues, will broaden their outlook, will establish new contacts, will improve their professional qualification, will be better informed about EU values, will get acquainted with different educational systems in Europe, with different culture, history and everyday life. The use of the new teaching approaches and new experience will motivate students continue studies in the secondary school and get higher education reducing the risk of early school leaving. Students will know more about different countries as teachers will share their foreign experience and impressions with them. Students will be more motivated to learn foreign languages to use them in their career and to establish contacts with their foreign peers. The positive school image will be ensured and broader possibilities to participate in international projects and events will appear . The school methodological base will be improved thus contributing to school longterm work and development. New contacts will also contribute to school development and international cooperation (including e-Twinning projects). We want to realize this project to influence in a positive way either our teachers or our school or other target audience: our school staff, students, parents, the representatives of our city educational department, our city and regional teachers and inhabitants at the local level, our national agency representatives at the state level and everybody who is interested at European level. The school long term benefit:1. Our staff will acquire knowledge and skills learning from the foreign partners’ experience, will improve practical skills to use them in their present work and professional development (at CLIL lessons in natural science and music, at maths, computer studies, English lessons and in educational work on the whole).2. Teachers will share their knowledge and experience (got abroad) with their students and will motivate the students to have better results in studies.3. Teachers will share the knowledge and methodological experience at school.4. Project participants will motivate other school teachers to be involved in the mobility and will help to get ready for it.5. The school will have more possibilities in the field of internationalization.
