The volunteer(s) will have the opportunity to participate on the start of the long lasting (at least three year) project DAS HAUS DER 28 TÜREN that will deal with situation of refugees in Germany and on an European level and with the question in which direction the project of European Unification will head in the coming years under the growing influence of populist and nationalist political right wing movements .It is a project that started as the cooperation of artists and cultural activists with NGOs and activists that are active on the field of human right and refugee relief. It will be amongst others supported through the programme “Projektfonds Kulturelle Bildung” in Berlin.It will be an open process that offers space for sharing of ideas and the interaction of all participants and will need the active involvement of the volunteers and they will encouraged to contribute to the activities with their own knowledge and skills.The main place of activities will be from on the Tempelhofer Feld a former airfield and today one of Berlins most popular recreation and leisure locations and on the same time in the close vicinity to the largest provisional shelters for refugees in Berlin located in the building and the apron of the former Berlin city airport Flughafen Tempelhof.Major topics of the project are:European citizenship, cultural identity, cultural and social diversity, intercultural and transcultural dialogue, tolerance, the situation of refugees in Europe, the situation in their home countries, their experiences on their way to Europe, their experiences in the countries of arrival.We will deal with this topics in a series of lectures, workshops, performances etc..The volunteer will be able to actively contribute to the development of this project in the preparation phase that has already started and will be an ongoing process until April 2017 and he/she will be able to actively particpate during the implementation that will start late April /early May 2017.
