Prevention of the natural disasters generated by earthquakes in cross-border area Romania-Bulgaria developing the early warning integrated communication network and capacity building at local level based on results of research in this field Achievements: The project “Danube Cross-border system for Earthquakes Alert”, MIS-ETC code 636 (1021), with a total eligible value of 5,706,096 Euro, contributes to the prevention of natural disasters caused by earthquakes in the Romania-Bulgaria cross-border area.The main results of the project were studies of seismicity, hazard, seismic risk and social impact studies of earthquakes in the eligible area. Intervention procedures have been improved and the use of seismic alarm system for emergency inspectorates in the eligible area. A network for monitoring the active seismic zones was created, which aims to achieve an earthquake early warning system for the central and local authorities.
