DANCESHIP-ROCK2015
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Oct 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project DANCESHIP-ROCK2015 enabled mutual meeting of young people from Czech Republic and Poland with common interest in acrobatic rock and roll. First impulse for cooperation and meetings outside the dance floor has come from the desire of athletes/dancers from sections of the RRC Silueta and Mega Dance Zielona Gora, who wished to deepen mutual cooperation outside the sports world for the benefit of them. The project DANCESHIP-ROCK2015 allowed mutual meeting of young people with common interest, who are spending their leisure time with acrobatic rock and roll in addition to going to school or work, while bringing together people from neighboring countries (Czech Republic and Poland) for 11 days in whole. The official languages of the meeting were Czech, Polish and English. Goals of the DANCESHIP-ROCK2015 project were: ? to enable young people from the Czech Republic and Poland to meet outside sporting events, ? to grow friendships and social cohesion based on shared values, ? to develop key competences, while mutually enriching in the cultural, ethical and educational area. The additional goals for the athletes/dancers were: ? to share and discuss trends in acrobatic rock 'n' roll, ? to proactively express personal opinions on changes and innovations in the sport (e.g. the latest changes in rules declared by WRRC - international rock?n?roll federation, which concerns them), ? to explore the culture, history and the present of another country and introduce the culture, history and the present of their own country, ? to develop personal language skills, ? to understand that competition does not preclude cooperation (neither in sports nor in the work and social life). Total of 52 participants from Poland and the Czech Republic took part in this meeting - 26 from Czech Republic and 26 from Poland, all dedicated to acrobatic rock and roll in couples. This ensured that there were the same number of boys and girls in the meeting. It was important to create a common mixed teams of young people in the project, which equally represented both nationalities (the same number of Czechs and Poles), gender (the same number of boys and girls) and evenly represented by age of participants (13-18, 19-24, 25-30), to make it possible within the framework of a meeting to create a mixed group (nationality, age, gender). Specifically, they created 4 mixed teams upon arrival at the meeting, i.e. each group consisting 6 Czechs and 6 Poles. The age range from 13 to18 years represented the young people who usually attend high school, range from 19 to 24 years representing young people who either study at a University/College or who are starting their professional carrier, range from 25 to 30 years representing young people who usually are employed. The 11-day meeting of young people of both countries included workshops on various topics, teambuilding activities, trips to the most beautiful places of D??ín and other activities according to the interests and the choice of the participants themselves focused to the development of their competencies. An NLP (neurolinguistic programming) method was applied in the context of non-formal learning, which is a proven method of personal development in Europe and in the U.S. used in lifelong learning in both commercial and non-commercial area. Outputs of the project are the development of knowledge, skills, habits and attitudes of project participants, the strengthening of motivation to improve and succeed in their adult life, the deepening of cooperation between dancers from different clubs and the willingness to help each other even outside the world of sport. The long-term benefits are the active involvement of young people from these sections to the concept of the development of the sport (e.g. by the active involvement in the work of the national sports federations) and the better employability of these young people on the labor market in Europe.
