PROJECT
FINISHED
Upon the feeling significant need to bring back the tradition of creative activities to educational institutions, we decided to implement the project of "European Nursery School 3". These activities should move the children from TV sets back to the world of simple manual operations which are ideally associated to the folk tradition. The manual operations are very suitable for the children, because many children live in towns where they lack the natural environment for development of working skills. Currently, a lot of children suffer from ADHD syndrome (e.g. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). This may be partly caused by the fact that they cannot live in a natural environment filled with active motion and activities. The children no longer help in family farms, they are not present in the outside environment so often, they do not have sufficient incentives and they are artificially maintained at resting conditions.
Due to the fact that it is rather difficult to organize a meeting of such small children, we have decided to prepare a project for teachers (it means the she-teachers) who lead the children during their activities. It is simply up to the teachers to motivate the children and turn these activities into the form of joyous moments.
We have the intention to prepare 6 meetings of nursery school teachers from partner organizations who will jointly organize creative workshops in each country. Each of the meetings shall take time of 5 days. The teachers have chosen the topics by themselves, according to their experience and according to their feeling of what could be the best for the children and nursery school community. During these meetings, the teachers will become familiar with operation and functioning of the partner nursery schools and rules for working with children. They will present some techniques to each other, those which have been proven best in the nursery schools or those which are new and inspiring. In addition to direct ways of creation, the teachers will also discuss some options to enrich work with small children. They will discuss the best ways of arranging a small workshop for children and parents. It will be quite interesting to have chance to compare the trends of pre-school education in neighbouring countries. International workshops and then also local nursery school workshops will encourage the teachers to try out some new things. These workshops will also strengthen professional profile of the teachers.
A hosting institution is to prepare worksheets with relevant procedures, tips and indicative pictures for its partners.
After each international meeting, they will arrange some creative workshops with children and parents to be held in their nursery schools. In these workshops, they can test the ways of using this issue in practice and they can also make up their tips in the worksheets.
The target group consists of teachers of nursery schools, children and actually the whole nursery school community, including parents and the organizing association.
In the project, we will use all the partner languages - Czech, Slovak and Polish. These languages are very similar so that the participants will understand each other.
