The applying organization in the project is Zespół Szkół im. Juliana Tuwima, which provides qualifications in the Hotel and Tourism vocational area. The project participants are teachers from the school.During the planning stage of the project, in order to investigate the needs of the school, but also for the project to meet the teachers’ needs, a questionnaire was distributed among the teachers to show the direction and type of planned courses. The legitimacy of such actions has been confirmed by the number of school staff, who have expressed a desire to join the project, making a group of participants up to 56% of all teaching staff. In addition, the project assumptions are dictated by the policies of the Ministry of Education and meet the horizontal and structural priorities. The main objective of this project is to prepare teachers to participate in foreign trainings through participation in courses which improve language skills or allow to learn new languages in striving of multilingualism. It is planned to organize four language courses: English (beginner and pre-intermediate level in the UK), Spanish (beginner level in Spain) and Italian (beginner level in Italy). In addition, an English teacher will take part in observation of the work of a foreign language school, called job shadowing. These courses and observations will help to improve the quality of teaching at Polish school, because on the basis of received information it is advisable to introduce elements of a foreign language during vocational subjects and humanities (elements of CLIL), as well as using the latest teaching methods and techniques of a foreign language observed abroad. The project will also contribute to broaden the horizons and worldview, to skill sharing with teachers from other European countries and promoting the concept of lifelong learning. Teachers will be able to familiarize themselves with various education systems in Europe. The next objective will be to establish new international contacts and increase teachers’ involvement in the development of new application forms of European Programme, as well as sharing their experience from a language course abroad with students going for training abroad. In order to prepare for departure, each participant will have the opportunity to take part in the cultural preparation and short language course in Poland. When it comes to language courses organized abroad, they will be prepared and carried out by an organization Tellus Education Group from the UK which has extensive experience on the international market in organizing language, methodical and professional courses, not only in England, but also in Italy, Spain and Poland. The project activities have been planned so as not to interfere with the work schedule at school, so the dates within which the courses will be organized include a period of winter and summer vacations. During the project essential tests will be carried out to assess the level of participants’ language skills (before and after the course), as well as other forms of assessing their progress in order to achieve the best results. For the purpose of the project, European School Development Plan for 2016-2018 was developed and adopted by the teaching staff. It describes various stages of activities related to the preparation, implementation and dissemination of the project. All activities undertaken during the project implementation will be monitored by the project coordinators. There are several methods that will be used in order to obtain it: direct observation of the language courses, current interviews with project participants and an analysis of information posted on websites, facebook and publications connected with the dissemination process. In order to assess the activities and results of the project an analysis of the results of the survey conducted among the participants after the course completion will be interpreted. The project itself and its results will form the foundation for future projects offering further training for staff working in the school.Project activities will bring numerous additional benefits, not only for all participants, but also the whole teaching staff, such as increase in the teachers’ mobility, improving language skills, the development of tolerance and openness to other cultures, overcoming prejudice and stereotypes, familiarizing with work in different linguistic and cultural conditions, as well as the ability to work in an international environment. In addition, it will enrich the educational offer of the school. Finally, in the future a number of people participating in dissemination activities of project results will be able to use it indirectly.
