The project assumes completion of the cycle of the five debates titled ‘Teenagers’ safety in cotemporary Poland’.The idea of the realization of the project is a grassroot initiative of students of Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia who are members of the student self-government and active scientific circles.To the participation in the debates, there are going to be invited students from other universities form Tri-City, experts and representatives of the local authorities. It is estimated that in the project there are going to participate 500 participants, however the majority of them (475 people) will constitute youth. The project will consist of three stages: preparation, debate and evaluation.The main objective of the project is to initiate a cooperation network between the young people, experts and decision-makers responsible for shaping the youth policy in the field of security.Specific objectives:- making the participants aware of the opportunities that influence the youth policy and active participation in shaping it- the youth involvement in decision making connected with the shape of security policy- providing a forum for exchange of views of the experts, policy makers and young people, in order to establish and improve the quality of cooperation in the youth field- the increase of the participants’ awareness connected with the national, local and cyber security.- the increase of the project participants’ awareness connected with the benefits of active participation in democratic life- the inclusion of the young people in the debate on the fairness and quality of education for securityTopics of the debates:-Debate 1: ‘Safety in the Internet’-Debate 2: ‘The sense of safety among young people in connection with a wave of immigration in Europe’-Debate 3: ‘Local public security’-Debate 4: ‘Education for safety’- Debate 5: summing up the whole cycleThe methods of work used in the project are: multimedia presentations, debates, moderate discussions, mutual learning. In addition, the project involves a survey which is addressed to potential participants and it includes discussed topics that meet the needs of the target group . After the execution of each debate, there is going to be carried out an evaluation, which will indicate the degree of fulfillment of the expectations of participants and achievement of the goals of the project.Conducting the debates will allow to exchange of views between policy makers and young people and experts on topics connected with the safety of youth in many respects and realizes the necessity of communicating with young people and encourage them to active participation in the development of youth policy.The project involves, creating a draft of the document setting out the framework for future cooperation between young people and decision-makers in the implementation of youth policy in local public safety issues of young people.The projects includes certificates : Youthpass and the Europass CV, testifying to or strengthening the core competencies of the participants.
