The project will consist of re-introducing old children’s games where are nowadays forgotten or left in the background because of the development of technology, presenting them and sharing them together. During the 3-months preparation period, about 8 participants from 5 different countries will prepare local children’s games in their own country. During this time they will also prepare books, DVDs and all texts and visual materials needed to explain the games. Before the activity date, representatives from the participating countries will meet in Istanbul and work together on planning the activities and designing the tent where games will be played. The project activity dates considered are between 31st August and 8th of September 2015 (excluding the travel days). During this period, a total of 40 participants from 5 countries will meet in Istanbul. The aforementioned games will be presented and played in a tent or circus we aim to create. During the activity, project participants from different countries and Turkey will invite children and local people to come in the “culture-play tent” and join the games with the slogan “Come and join us”. They will present these traditional games and insure active participations from the disadvantaged children in the audience. Local people, such as parents, will also eventually actively join them. When the project is over, a booklet will be made to present the children’s games from the 5 countries and it will be illustrated with the pictures taken during the activity. This booklet will be printed in different languages. For the coming years, we aim of turning this project into recurrent Olympic games. Years after years, we want to make a tradition of these intercultural games and booklet, giving this way long life to sharing value.
