CULTURE BRINGS US TO THE BRIGHTER FUTURE!–Ukrainian&Polish culture workshops project is an activity which is going to gather young people from rural areas of Poland and disadvantages urban areas of Ukraine - two important middle European countries. Our main goal is to break taboos and prejudices among youth and to strengthen brotherhood using the power and effectiveness of local traditions that we share. Through centuries, local traditions have been an effective way of communication in societies. From Kiev to Warsaw people got married, celebrated different holidays to express themselves via presenting their own culture in order to get a sense of belonging. The message carried in the traditional dances, songs, and movements is strong and shows well the soul of the performer. Thanks to 7 days of workshops and content sessions about identity during this youth exchange participants will have a room for cultural exchange. Important part of this project is the possibility to implement national traditions, local songs during intercultural evenings. Getting to know traditions of two nations in central of Europe we will be a great chance to find similarities that bring us together – to build brighter future. The final result of the workshops will be an international dance and song deriving from both traditions. An essential part of this project is a follow-up, which will take place up to the month after the main meeting. Through local action, using prepared promotional materials, participants will have a chance to promote results of this exchange (especially the ones related to dance and songs). This will ensure presenceof the information about European youth programs, results of intercultural learning in urban area of Ukraine - where project is going to take place and where knowledge about Youth in Action program is almost none, as well as disadvantaged rural areas of Poland. Taking advantage of Eastern Partnership window we hope to bring closer Polish and Ukrainians.
