Last months media's headlight is the refugee issue, the story of people who want to get to Europe and trying to escape from war, discrimination, hunger and death. We have closed our eyes to the others' pain and bad life conditions, it's also truth for excluded living in our own country. There is a need to have knowledge, skills to be able to establish dialogue with the Others, also skills to promote our own values and what even more important to build the internal respect and positive attitude towards difference. What the cultural, religious, social diversity brings to the society are like puzzles, waiting to be finally put into the constructive picture to learn from it and keep working on risk assessment which appears when we meet the Others. In the "Cultural puzzles" project volunteers from United Kingdom, France and Poland get a chance to learn the cultural adaptation from their personal experience, they will get to know different perspectives from people they will work with, specially the excluded one trying to come back to the society; they will also learn how to use that knowleadge to start the cooperation and dialogue as well how to promote it among others.Their voluntary service on the edge of their worlds could help in: building the intercultural dialogue with the focus on migrants, raising global connections awareness and using the global education in local activities, learning from each other (volunteers and partner organisations) and supporting young people in getting new competencies they can use in the future on the labour market.Activities planned will take place between January 2016 and June 2017. Three volunteers from the United Kingdom and France will come to Poland to support Stowarzyszenie "Jeden Świat" in the building common understanding between people activities and the global education, to work with Fundation Poznan-Ille et Vilaine connecting Polish-French cooperation, to support Association for Social Cooperatives in their activities to develop the social cooperatives. Polish volunteer will go to Check In, Portugal to support the receiving organisation, in enabling dialogue between different social groups, as well as, promotion of art and culture among youth. The same time all volunteers will collect stories from to make the puzzles completed to post them on “Jeden Świat” blog and use them for preparation of educational materials including publication. The project will be implemented by seven organisations: Stowarzyszenie "Jeden Świat" (Poland) acting as coordinating, hosting and sending organisation, , Check-In (Portugal), Stowarzyszenie na rzecz Spółdzielni Socjalnych (Poland), Fundacja Poznań-Ille et Vilaine (Poland)acting as receiving organisations as well as Tambour Battant (Francja), Una Exchange (Wielka Brytania), Jeunes a Travers le Monde (Francja)acting as sending organisations. We will use non-formal eduction approach and methods and we will promote the advantage of the innovative working methods and self-development such voluntary service among beneficiaries of the project.
