European Union's special role in the world in the XXI century actualized a number of global problems among which, first amd foremost, understanding of Europe and Europeanism, as well as those key factors which underpin the mainstream processes of modern European integration. The course “Cultural Modeling of Modern European Political Design” focuses on the role and importance of intercultural cooperation within the EU as one of key factors and prerequisites, giving European integration a new quality, enhancing the role and importance of Europe in the world, preserving and disseminating European values on a global scale.The main objective of the course is to expand the scope of expert knowledge about European practices and to promote non-biased knowledge about Europe as well as the major social and cultural processes in the region. The course is going to be structured around the following problem areas: - European Integration: values, policies, practices; - Cultural dimension of European politics: towards homogeneous political culture; - Intercultural competence, employability and competitiveness on international labour market; - Modelling European identity: multilevel cultural diversity management; - Social and cultural potential of European mass culture; - Cultural modelling in European political design.The course is planned as an obligatory subject comprised of a variety of interactive teaching techniques , project work and case studies.
