Cultural diversity and Interfaith Dialogue in the Youth perspectives

The Youth Exchange Cultural diversity and Interfaith Dialogue in the Youth perspectives – CID Project, is a project focused on cultural diversity and intercultural and interreligious dialogue, social inclusion, participation and integration.It will gather young people from Lithuania, Turkey, Armenia, Greece, Azerbaijan and Italy. Each country will be represented by 5 participants and 1 Group Leader. The venue will be in Forza d’Agrò (Italy) from 15 to 20 November 2016. Main aim of this project is to encourage active participation of young people, through non-formal activities, in the debate of Intercultural Dialogue, and to offer participants a chance to discover phenomena of culture and cultural diversity such as essence of intercultural learning that are part of becoming sensitive to cultural differences. The youth leaders have to orient the young people for comprehending obstacles (stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination and violence) that occur during intercultural dialogue and finding possibilities for overcoming these problems, one first has to understand one’s own culture. Participants will have chance to work and spend time together, to learn about each other’s cultures, to share and to break down personal and cultural barriers. The project wants to feel positive benefits of participation and inclusion, to increase mobility of young people and to develop young people's citizenship and mutual understanding. The working methods are in the context of non-formal education that permits the youngsters to express themselves in creative and personal ways. These topics require not only formal knowledge, but also the reflection about values and attitudes, differences and similarities. Young people will discover these topics through outdoor activities, ice breaking, press conference, photo-voice, Role playing, activities for interaction with local community, discussions, concrete actions, interactive workshops, presentations, multicultural evenings, integration games and tour of the city, the participants will learn what they have in common but as well they will understand the importance of the diversity of European cultures and Integration. Will be realized a final report that summarized the situation of Intercultural and interreligious process of integration in the local realities and collect the results of the project.
