Cultiv-a(r)te is a 7 day youth exchange on developing young peoples cultural awareness and intercultural learning in the community and with other young people, especially those from marginalized, vulnerable and underprivileged backgrounds. It will be held in the small city of Kavadarci, Macedonia and will bring together different partners from different European countries. 24 participants will take part supported by 6 staff / team members. The youth exchange will use non-formal methods and activities to help participants connect with inter-cultural learning, breaking down barriers to inclusion, experiential learning, development of critical thinking, developing teamwork and citizenship and other youth work activities. One of the objectives is to encourage participants through this experience developing new European projects in future to foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries.By exchanging their own experiences on this project, participants will get first-hand practice in inter-cultural learning. We believe that “Cultiv-a(r)te” will be a fun and effective way to achieve understanding for the cultural diversity in Europe by sharing personal cultural backgrounds. Participation of all youngsters is a key priority. We want to involve them as much as possible in the preparation, execution, evaluation and shaping the outcome towards their community. We already have put youngsters from Zenith & GI together for 2 brainstorm sessions about the exchange, also youngsters from Zenith are planning to do an exhibition afterwards in our cultural centre. We want youngsters to have an active input in the exchange and it's form and shape. That's how and why we choose the methodology and the the topic of this exchange, so the young people can freely express themselves and: to learn how to cope with unexpected situations and cultural differences; to gain practical skills in photography and video through producing stop-motion videos; to give the participants chance to prepare their own stop-motion videos and take responsibility in preparing, filming and editing the video and discover their inner talents; to provide platform for the young people to learn to take responsibility for preparation, and to learn more about the possibilities that ERASMUS + offers to young people in Europe, which are all objectives of this exchange. At the end of this youth exchange It will present the competencies, improvements and skills the diverse group has developed as well as be a positive example. Also at the end of the this exchange will be organized a final event where photos from the youth exchange will be presented to the general community of Kavadarci and also the short stop--motion videos will be presented. The event will also introduce the possibilities that ERASMUS + offers to young people and the community as a whole. This project will include activities of practical and non-formal educational training for learners and staff from Belgium and Macedonia, which will take place in Macedonia. The activity hosted in Kavadarci will be focused on creativity and practical skills in photography and video through producing stop-motion videos. The receiving organization creACTive will host an exchange for 5 youth workers and for 24 young people for the period between 26th of June and 2nd of July, 2016.
