Our project is called "Tales of the Alhambra. EUROPEAN YOUNG PEOPLE FOR INTERCULTURALITY SOLIDARITY AND READING “
The main activity of this project is to gather in a multilateral meeting with 48 young people from six member countries of the European Union, in the city of Maracena (Granada). This group will be tutored by a group of 8 leaders: 2 per participating country. The profile of young men / women, has centering around the ages of 18-30 years and these should be actively involved in programs for youth, culture, education, equality, etc. Said path is essential by the entities since subsequently will extend the methodology acquired in its immediate context.
This project starts on previous work carried out daily for the Youth Space Maracena of the Municipality of, along with other areas such as the Center for Women, the Department of Education and Culture, etc. Said areas are marked as key objectives the development of a, supportive, respectful, diverse, equalitarian, fair, committed and educated youth participatory values. Therefore, we highlight the thrust, dynamism, creativity and how hard young men / women of the village are putting in each of the stages (planning, development and implementation) of the project.
Following years of experience behind us in this matter, we have found it necessary to to deepen the spread of the playful methodology with young men / women, betting on the game as a learning tool value in child-youth sector. Into this line of work, we have sought partners who both for their interest as their experience, capacity and sensitivity on the subject of education, culture, the interest in literature and knowledge of heritage etc., demonstrate the requirements needed for the development of this project. Thus, in fact that they believe in the ability to share,(through the creation of narratives, mutual learning, sight of the written concepts into real objects, etc.) the they promote changes of any kind in their areas of action at local, regional, national and international level.
This project with young people from other countries we believe that will leave a significant mark on all players involved. Europe is an unique learning space for young men / women, and therefore helps to expand the level of skills, abilities and attitudesas well as improving the policies that have been developed locally. Among other factors, we believe that our project provides a very suitablemethodology when it comes to intervene with youth on culture and education. Indeed, we believe that non-formal education processes, based on dynamization, creativity, participation and autonomous action, are essential tools to work everything related with education in values and, specifically, something so intimately linked to the own make of our identities and the ways we place ourselves in the world, such as the attainment of real equality.
Attuned to the above, a control system and monitoring under a feedback methodology which will allow better relationship between them,a self-learning and proposal of solutions of those harmful behavior by humans, enhance and disseminate our emotional health will be performed. The combination of practical action, with an active and dynamic methodology in a playful and thoughtful environment is the basis for this project.
The involvement of young men / women in the project, that is absolutely remarkable since the beginning of it, can be seen in active collaboration in all stages. One of our key ideas is to set up an European Network of Youth for multiculturalism, solidarity and reading, as sources of personal and international knowledge, facts that exert a multiplier effect.
