Cross-sectoral cooperation focused solutions for preventing early school leaving
Start date: May 1, 2014,
The project, Cross-sectoral cooperation focused solutions for preventing early school leaving – CroCooS focuses on the prevention and intervention levels of reducing early school leaving (ESL) with special focus on early warning systems (EWSs) building on a multi-sectoral and horizontal cooperation between all stakeholders. The general aim of the project is to contribute to the specification and to the applicability of a comprehensive early warning system in the European countries. In order to reach this goal specific objectives of the project are the:1. Identification of the elements of a comprehensive Early Warning System. The system should be grounded on cross-sectoral cooperation. The proposed EWS will be piloted in 2 + 2 European countries.2. Compilation of an on-line Resource Pool of efficient, cooperation based methods.3. Promotion of stakeholders’ cooperation by various consultation (workshops, PLAs, on-line forum, social networks) and dissemination activities.4. Formulation of recommendations on what the preconditions of designing and operating a comprehensive EWS at national level are and what requisites systems should hold to set the ground for efficient interventions at local level. The above mentioned objectives are planned to be realized by knowledge sharing, research, analysis, pilot including training and consultations, dissemination, assessment of efficiency and reporting activities.Based on the specification of the EWS a pilot would be designed and planned to be carried out in four European countries. Besides data collection the pilot would comprise training elements, sensitizing workshops, and events promoting stakeholder cooperation. The assessment of the efficiency of the piloted EWS will be ensured by the professionally designed evaluation provided by the evaluation body.Through the activities described above the CroCoos project consortium hopes to compensate the shortcomings of early warning systems operated throughout Europe.
