The partner schools and the NGO together respond to their common needs and overcoming of the identified weaknesses under the project by: developing a culture awareness program as a methodological tool to apply consistently in order to overcome differences and appreciate the cultural heritage of the trans-border region with the wide involvement of teachers, students, and experts;training of core group of teachers to serve as trainers in culture awareness;hold summer Children Culture Fest as part of the training programme;develop a website dedicated to the project outcomes and training programme to disseminate further project results;promote the results of the project among other schools and youth in the region. Achievements: The project encouraged partnership network among educational institutions across the border and reinforcing social and cultural links, increased the public awareness about cultural heritage, traditions, cultural values and wealth of the cross-border area.Through the conducted Train the Trainers workshop Cultural Awareness Programme and for teachers from Bulgaria and Turkey helped them to gain more knowledge in specific fields and supported the exchange of experience and best practices.Children Culture Fest as a part of training programme covered a series of cultural events e.g. art sessions based on traditional crafts, exhibitions, music, dances, sports activities, etc.The art exhibits created during the student exchanges and the Children Art Fest have been shown in travelling exhibitions in schools from both sides in the border region. These promoted cultural heritage and moments captured in photos from the exchanges and the children fest to mobilise support for next edition of activities and fest.Website www.culturalfriendship.eu with information on the project objectives, activities, results and training programme in Bulgarian and English languages has been elaborated.The project has been successfully accomplished in July 2012.
