The two counties have common cross-border nature protection sites, which shall be protected and managed by joint actions. As EU Member states, both counties enacted the acquis communautaire, including legislation on nature protection such as the Birds and Habitats Directives. The neighbouring counties shall act together for the fulfilment of obligations stipulated in these directives.Based on these obligations, it is inevitable to provide information for local people, and raise their awareness to act together for the protection of natural habitats and wild flora and fauna.One of the objectives of the project is to involve local people in the management of Natura 2000 habitats: provide them information on the advantages of the designation, which can result in growing attractiveness of the region and better living conditions of local people. The general objective of the project is to enhance and restore natural habitats in the cross border area by the cooperation of neighbouring partners. Target groups: participants to project events (expert meetings: 20 people, closing conference: 150 people), authors of the study: 10 people, participants to the awareness raising campaign: general public, local students, in average 30.000 people. The main specific activities of the project are: project events (5 expert meetings, 1 closing congference); study (data gathering, PR strategy and action plan, campaign evaluation); awareness raising campaign (call for students for competition, public hearings on 3-3 sites in the two counties); public procurement - fair tents, posters, PR activities (kick off press conference Satu Mare, closing press conference in Nyiregyhaza, brochures in Hungarian, Romanian and English, movie on DVD on 3 languages, project homepage on Hungarian and Romanian).Main results: 2 project meetings, 1 call for competition for students, 4 financial reports, 1 project evaluation, 5 expert meeting, 1 closing conference, 1 of information set, 70 pcs campaign evaluation study, 6 of public hearings, 24 awards to competition winners, 2 pcs fair tents with posters, 2 press conferences, 5000 pcs of three language brochures, 100 DVD movie on 3 languages, 1 pcs project homepage.
