PROJECT

There are three central issues in this Dutch-led project: How can a cross border business park be set up? How can it be internationally marketed? And, how can it be successfully managed? To answer these issues on behalf of three existing parks and another of others at an infant stage of development, the 6 partners from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands are launching a cost-efficiency search, a contacts database and a marketing strategy. The objectives of this project are to contribute to regional economic development, enhance social-cohesion, and reduce peripherality. It will encourage the pooling of knowledge, development of good practice, development of development of an international marketing campaign through transnational cooperation, and the provision of spatial planning platform to ensure compliance with different legislation (i.e. waste management). The project aims will work towards the creation of two border crossing business parks and the sustainable development of the regions involved, taking on board a toolbox for implementation and transferring the knowledge between those partners and observers with previous experience in the Benelux region and relative newcomers.
