CRG International Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Programme (InterPod)
Start date: Mar 1, 2010, End date: Apr 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The current proposal aims at creating, at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), an International Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Programme (InterPod) to train young scientists, in accordance with the objectives of the Marie Curie COFUND action. The goal of this new incoming mobility Programme is to provide highly talented postdocs with the opportunity to increase their trans-national mobility and advance their career development. CRG, located in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), is emerging as a first-class multidisciplinary research centre. CRG strengths are in systems and computational biology, cell and molecular biology, genetics and epigenetics, and genomics and proteomics. CRG leads an International PhD Programme, hosts cutting-edge core facilities and gives access to one of the largest animal facilities in Europe. Therefore, the CRG will provide an excellent and dynamic scientific environment for the proposed Programme. The 4-year Programme will offer a total of 10 fellowships that will be announced in 2 international calls. The selection of the fellows will be merit-based, founded on international peer review in an open and transparent selection procedure. The fellows will choose interdisciplinary research projects that bring together research lines of two or more CRG laboratories. In addition to advanced research training, the Programme will offer a series of activities and workshops aimed at providing experienced researchers with the required skills for a successful career in science, and increase their competitiveness in the current job market.
