"Creativity for Empowerment - EVS Ghana 2011 " will promote inclusion of disadvantaged youth through participation in arts and creativity workshops and will also help strengthen global solidarity through a creative.intercultural dialogue within the EVS project. .; ,Together.with Ghanian volunteers, 13 European volunteers from Slovenia, Poland, Wales, Ireland and Czech Republic will help organize creative workshops for more than 200 children and youth from deprived communities. Arts and creative pedagogy are used as tool to empower the EVS volunteers and local Ghanian children ih the sense of discovering and expressing their potentials and hidden talents. The workshops will be held in Accra, Ghana from 7th October - 18th November 2011 and will focus on areas such as painting, drawing, dancing, poetry, acrobatics and singing. The volunteers will also help to facilitate problem solving workshops on local problems as social exclusion, poverty, youth unemployment, global environmental challenges, waste management and others.The EVS project will give young European volunteers the possibility to work together with Ghanianvolunteers and exchange and develop new ideas for diverse culture and creativity in a global world. Boththe EVS volunteers, youth with fewer opportunities, and local volunteers and children will be empoweredto develop their skills and self-esteem in order to be an active member of society and get engaged in futureactivities aiming at global understanding.
