PROJECT
FINISHED
CISNET supports the creative industries sector which is growing strongly and is a major employer in the AA. Moreover, it is also an engine for other economic activities and innovation. The AA creative industries have common concerns related to the difficulties of market access, particularly amplified by the peripheral location of the regions. In this sense, the project aims to improve the economic activities of SMEs with the development of new products, improving access to markets, using new techniques and technologies, through networking, clustering and the transfer of technology and innovation. The cultural and creative sectors have an important and strategic role to play at a regional and local level, as they are an engine of growth and employment in AA cities and regions, besides the impact they have in terms of social cohesion. The project aims to make regions more attractive for investment and growth through better knowledge and innovation and therefore create more and better jobs. It also aims to facilitate innovation and promote entrepreneurship but also make access to the information society widespread. So CISNET set up a 'Creative City' online community, to make the diversity and advantages of metropolitan areas accessible to the dispersed regions of AA. The 'Creative City' provides a place to access the market place, an area of marketing, technology and innovation stimulation by providing access to specialised resources and knowledge. The project aims to define, identify and promote creative industries enabling companies to work together and collaborate with research institutions, thus facilitating the transfer of knowledge in the AA. Companies also receive support for their participation in fairs and exhibitions in order to improve, develop and promote their own products, processes and also to enable them to access new markets. The creative companies in the AA will thus become more competitive and diversified, creating more wealth and jobs in their regions. Achievements: In the framework of the project, two publications were produced:• Mapping of the Creative and Cultural Industries of the CISNET regionsThis report maps the industrial structure of the CCI in the CISNET partner regions of Andalusia, West of Ireland and Wales. This report is an amalgamation of three previous regional mapping reports, which were carried out on an individual level in each of the CISNET project’s regions. This report aims to identify clusters, synergies and ultimately opportunities to promote the CISNET regions endogenous potential.• CISNET CCI Transnational SWOT ReportTo understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the creative and cultural industries, CCI, SWOT research was carried out at a regional level in each of the five partner regions of the CISNET project. This report brings the findings of the regional SWOT research together to form an overall analysis at a transnational level. At this transnational level, the SWOT analysis compares the findings of the regional reports, seeking possible clusters and synergies that have the potential to be commercially exploited at a transnational level.More information: CISNET website
