Creative Effects' Workshop
Creative Effects' Workshop
Start date: May 1, 2010,
The creativity, art, communication and visibility are very important key-words not only for successful business, but also in social live of every individual - you and me! Do I know my social rights? How can I get all information I need? How can I tell about social rights to other people as wide as possible? How can I use different media and art forms to spread this information, not spending much money? The youth exchange "Creative Effects' Workshop", organized by Latvian organization RED in strong collaboration with 7 other institutions from different European countries (Portugal, Slovakia, Italy, Spain, France, Turkey and Norway), will gain together 32 social active participants (4 from each country, age: 18 - 25, one from each group with less opportunity) + 8 leaders (not older than 30). The project will take place in Latvia (in city and country side) from 28th August till 4th September 2010 (8 days, excluding travel days). It will be a project with 3 different topics: creative non-standard media, social rights (especially rights to job, qualification, just conditions, education and non-discrimination) and intercultural dialogue as well. The youth project will have 4 main activities: 1) creative workshops, practicing different ways to express our ideas (flash mob, theatre, grafitti, video, internet, painting, music & ecology etc.); 2) preparation of the creative social rights' presentations and workshops for rural schools; 3) travelling to 5 different rural schools to organize creative events for local youth about social rights; 4) at the end of the project will be a big open event with concert in Riga or other city in Latvia promoting social rights. During the project all participants will get some knowledge and practical skills about social rights, advertisement, art, communication. Mainly they will work using non-formal education & creative art methods as theatre, video, blogging, foto, flash mob, painting, graffiti etc. With these tools they will learn social rights; they will express their understanding about social rights and they will give the input for rural youth to become more active in social life. As an extra result of the project will be a video about social rights, intercultural dialogue and project as well.
