Cork Community Art Link is situated in an historical area of cork city, within reach of many cultural and historical places and 5 minutes walking distance from the city centre. Cork Community Art Link wishes to work with the European Voluntary Service to host three volunteers for 6 months. The volunteers will come from France and Italy and will participate in our participatory public art and street theatre programmes. The volunteers will work collaboratively with artists and participants from the local community on creative arts projects in a range of community and social contexts including youth and community associations, disability groups and services, schools, training programmes, libraries,and the health sector. Artistic mediums will include giant puppetry, prop making, public art installations, interventions and music. The objective of this project is to include people from the greater community of the European Union and specifically youth volunteers in projects which explore the idea of community, inclusion and creative collaboration which is inclusive of all. By inviting volunteers from other countries this will help to develop and explore new ideas for collaborative artistic exploration giving a new dimension to Cork Community Art Link and to the development of collaborative creative relationships in Europe.
