Controlling invasive riparian plants and restoring native biodiversity
Start date: Aug 31, 2010, End date: Dec 30, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED 

This project will control and if possible eradicate invasive alien plants in demonstration river catchments in Ireland and western Scotland using best practice in a cross-border context. It has been developed to address the key environmental priority of biodiversity and also meets objectives of the water priority, responding to the requirements of the Water Framework Directive and the Habitats Directive. It contributes to sustainable development in the cross-border regions by promoting tourism and green infrastructure.
