PROJECT
FINISHED
The main purpose of the project was to train youth leaders/youth workers about Erasmus+ with focus on youth exchanges, who can act as multipliers in their work with young people. More, the project which was a contact making seminar aimed to give an opportunity to the participants to start working on future projects. We invited mainly young youth leaders/youth workers from organisations who are members of the European Network Platform-Network and an important aim with the project was to raise the amount of youth exchanges proposed within the network.
Overall aim
By bringing together representatives of youth organizations, the seminar aimed to increase knowledge about Erasmus+ and youth exchanges in particular. In addition, the seminar aimed to give the participants the opportunity to network and start working on projects which can be implemented during 2016.
Objectives
- To raise awareness of the Erasmus+ programme with focus on youth exchanges
- To improve competences in project management in youth exchanges; including preparation, implementation and follow up activities of a youth exchange
- To offer a learning experience of the process of a youth exchange
- To bring together people working with young people in order to create new project ideas within the Erasmus+ programme
- To share experiences, methods and good practices in international youth work
The seminar brought together 24 participants, two support persons and three trainers from Sweden, Hungary, Germany, Lichtenstein, Belgium, Spain, Greece and Italy. The target group was youth workers, voluntary youth leaders in organisations and social workers.
The participants learned more about the process of a youth exchange in the preparation, implementation and follow-up phrase. The non-formal methods used and the peer-to peer learning approach supported learning from each others experience and knowledge. Moreover, the project made an impact on the partner organisations were the participants shared their experience and ideas coming out from the seminar. Hence, the project promoted active youth participation were young people came together and created ideas for future projects together to be realized within the Platform Network.
The result of the project is several youth exchanges planned for 2016 within the Platform Network, young youth leaders and youth workers who are more skilled in the field of youth exchanges and inspired to take further actions after the project with the support of their organisation.
