FINISHED
This project takes place within the EU-program Erasmus+, European Volunteer Service. Duration is 12 months. The coordinating and hosting organization S'Einlädele as well as the Berliner hosting organization "Stadtmission" are active in working with homeless people and refugees. The profit of the 2. hand store and the café is to support a scocial facility in Ukraine: an orphanage, home for elderly, shelter for singel mothers, etc. Also transports of necessary goods take place regularely into the Ukraine. International solidarity is a main thought of the project, to support tolerance and cultural variety. This project wants to inspire the bridging between Germany and Ukraine. It also wants to open an opportunity of international learning for three volunteers. All have experiences of disadvantages, such as violence and flight. Two of the volunteers will got to Freiburg, the third to Berlin. They will - according to their own interests, ideas and abilities - work in different fields of the hosting organizations. They also will gain intercultural and practical experiences and they will learn German. This should open personal and professional opportunites for them. During preparation and for the entire duration of the project all partners (CO, HO, SO) will cooperate closely. The volunteers are included in planning and running the project and they are supposed to play an active part. The sending organisation is responsible to prepare the volunteers. At the hosting organizations there are various people who take care and support the volunteers. In meetings on a regular base thr process of learning will be reflected. At the end, the project will be evaluated from all participants, results will influence possible projects in the future. Learning successes will be documented in Youthpasses.Following aims are in the focus of this project: individual support of young volunteers with less opportunities, devoloping a personal and professional perspective and future, developing self-esteem, learning a new language, reflecting different cultures by personal contacts, getting familiar with structures of democracy and participation, intensifying the exchange between Germany and Ukraine by organizing cultural events with (Ukrainian) artists. Last but not least, the conciliation is an important aspect, too, because of cruelties during the second world war.
