This project is between Turenki Secondary school in Janakkala and Institut Miquel Marti Pol in Roda de Ter. Institut Miquel Martí is a Secondary school situated in Roda de Ter, Catalonia. This academic year, there are 370 students in attendance from 12 to 17 years old. Turenki secondary school has 30 teachers and 380 students.Project builds on the different competencies of both partners and aims at studying and implementing best practices in the use of information and communications technology, CLIL and student inclusion. The time of the project is ideal since Turenki, like all Finnish schools, is undergoing substantial changes due to the chosen specialization in paper-free and digital studies and new National Curriculum. This project offers us a good opportunity to observe and implement on both organizational and classroom level. Spanish delegation will visit Finland in April, Finland in May 2017.School's Erasmus teams are five teachers on the Finnish sides, three of who will travel, and four teachers on the Spanish side. All participants are involved in their school development. Each one will be assigned a colleague and will share information about their didactics, classroom approaches and use of languages and CLIL in teaching. The Spanish side is interested in Finnish educational model, evaluation, management and learning environment. Institut Miquel Marti Pol will draw its results from these areas. Spanish center has been taking part in a project called GEP (Experimental Project towards Plurilinguism) since 2014-2015. Coupled with our regular English language classes, there are three additional subject areas which are taught in English: Social Sciences, Music and Maths. Beyond this, many eTwinning projects related to various cultural topics have been carried out. The Finnish school will observe CLIL and ICT combination in the Spanish classroom, learn about Spanish educational system, inclusion, social matters, partner's previous projects as well as learn more about Catalonia and Catalan. Turenki school will offer a tour of its learning environment, unique in Finland and covered by Finnish media Mtv3, YLE. If needed, the school is ready to advise on the planning and usage of such environment. We will also present our paper-free experiment, the class which only studies by using digital materials for three years. The experiment is the most vast in Finland and will be of great interest to the Spanish side.We will also present and invite others to join in on our cooperation with Korea in science teaching field.Principals of the schools will meet each other as well as other management to better understand best practices and differences. Our joint job shadowing project aspires to increase ICT and language competences by familiarizing teachers and management with the Finnish new learning environments, CLIL and innovative methodologies. Both parties will fill in observation forms during their stay. The results will appear online, offered to parents and local newspapers. We hope to find observation results implemented on a very practical level, such as diversifying the use of our learning environments, better language and ICT competencies, that are essential to international communication, preparing for more diversity in an otherwise homogenic school. We see as internationalization, European awareness and better understanding of the common issues we share with other European teachers as long term benefits.
