PROJECT
FINISHED
"Connecting Cultures" was created to strengthen the partnership between Jena and the Palestinian town Beit Jala. The intention is to improve intercultural activities.
In Jena, we provide four months voluntary service for five volunteers who are students of Al Harah theater. They are two women and three men, from 20 to 24 years old.
Here, they learn the trade and assist with improvment of Circus Momolo. We are offering the young people of this troubled region a varied perspective. Our volunteers will experience personal growth and the opportunity to expand their professional skills.
Their stay will climax with an evening of celebrating German-Palestinian culture at Christmas time. The event is open to all and will be jointly organized by the volunteers and members of the Circus Momolo.
We intend to bestow upon all of those involved an increased awareness of other cultures and an increase in intercultural competence, through this project. In the long term, we would like to obtain a close cooperation with the Palestinian cultural facilities and a lively mutual exchange of volunteers.
