'Understand and exercise its citizenship - Valorize Positive Adolescent Initiatives' is base of a lasting cooperation between Inventare Insieme (Onlus) in Palermo (Italy) and Maison des Adolescents de l'Hérault in Montpellier (France). It aims to enable young people to work on their rights, their duties in an intercultural dialogue in order to invest fully their living environment, and enable youth professionals to converse about their daily practices and usual tools at their disposal. Provide a dynamic and positive vision on the place of young people in Europe, by showing the active role they play in a more cohesive society, is also a important purpose of the project. It is based on youth exchanges (physical exchanges, written and audio correspondences, video conferences), and mobilizes multimedia tools to valorize the initiatives and altruistic commitments of young people. Moreover, italian and french professionals of Youth from different sectors (health, justice, education, training, ...) will meet together in order to share experiences and practices, with publics and local public policy sometimes different. Two meetings are organized (in Montpellier in October 2015, and in Palermo in April 2016) with regular remote exchanges. Citizenship, solidarity, social integration and creativity are the main themes explored over the workshops and meetings that will raise awareness and give responsibility to young people. The group of participants (composed of eight young people living in Montpellier and of eight young people living in Palermo) from various partners will be initiated to photography, radio, video, Internet and social networks they'll use for the exchanges. This work is a true advocacy of youth engagement through valorizing concrete experiences. The issues of urban safety, of relationships between youths and adults, of public policies for Youth and its actors, will be asked, as well as the quality of collaboration of this services and this structures that interest to professionals during their experience exchanges and their field meetings. The project will mobilize the members of the collective of Maison des Adolescents de l'Hérault (34 organizations from all sectors), and the results will be communicated widely in Italy and in France. This work will initiate other shares leaded by (other) young people, why not by other structures, that will continue it, or will complete it, or mount another project. The purpose is to then expand the partnership, especially with Morocco and Spain (Barcelona).
