The project entitled “Technical Professional Competencies in European Area” is a mobility project of LTM under Erasmus +, Call 2014, having as partner organizations Zaw / wisamar from Germany and EPM / AFPDM from Portugal, with whom we have established the duration of the stage,training contents and participants tasks,responsibilities of the parties and we have developed documents relating the results of the stage abroad, the commitment to quality, MoU and LA/WP.
Thirty students from LTM, in the XI grade,qualification Technician operator IT/Transportation Technician who have completed their practical training (three weeks) for the “Electronic circuits” module and six VET teachers participated for one week in an stage training (Job Shadowing ).
The project duration was 24 months and was conducted so: in Training center Zaw - Leipzig,Germany for 15 students (April 9th-29th 2015) and 3 teachers (April 9th-15th 2015) and in Training center EPM / AFPDM Portugal for 15 students (April 5th-25th 2016) and 3 teachers (April 5th-11th 2016). (LTM implemented in 2011-2013 two mobility projects LdV through LLP, with partner AFPDM, Portugal).
Project’s objectives were fully achieved and responded to the needs identified and answered both participants’ profile and our institutions:
- the level and quality of competences and skills acquired by students are in accordance with the planned ones, necessary for their integration onto the labor market. Participating students come from rural areas (37 %),from single-parent families (30 %) or have both parents working abroad (20 %) and were at risk of leaving school due to poor financial conditions of their families.They received training in a high performance environment,acquiring skills and abilities stipulated in both SPP and the national curriculum,as well as for personal skills development (communication,team work,adapting to work situations in a new cultural environment);
-following the european training, LTM teachers improved their teaching skills through development of digital competencies and use of IT in every day technical classrooms.Teachers of the target group participated in a training program by assisting in the classroom and activities of their counterparts in Leipzig,respectively Montijo.They received thus information on technical subjects teaching methodology from EU countries,have developed IT skills for current classes application,which they presented to their peers in our highschool and community;
-a development of the cooperation network between our highschool and the European VET was achieved, increased awareness on an European area of lifelong learning among our students and teacher.
The selection of participants consisted of a public competition organized in our highschool for the students; for VET teachers the selection was performed based on the presentation of a project to LTM Administratory Council.The selection was a transparent, coherent, documented and avoided conflicts of interest process, ensuring equality of chances.There were no contestations regarding the selection results.
The selected participants benefited for the training program (pedagogical,linguistic,cultural) and logistic assistance, tutors/mentors, counceling and monitoring activity.
The project used ECVET and Europass tools. All participants received Europass Mobility and Attendance Certificate documents. Evaluation of the acquired skills through the mobility project was performed by tutors/mentors in the presence of the Romanian monitor and validated by Europass Mobility.
Learning outcomes have been the planned ones,the transfer and recognition was performed by LTM,they were registrered in participants' personal professional portfolios, according to OMECI no.4931/2008 and OMECTS no. 5562/2011; the participants prepared their individual reports.
The obtained results are the same with the planned ones:
-improved professional and personal skills,and employability;
-developing transnational partnership, increasing education quality and attractiveness of our educational LTM offer, reducing school leaving;
-the awareness of European citizenship and European dimension of education.
The impact of the project is the estimated one:increasing the level of professional competencies will lead to reducing the discrepancy in the labor market between the skills required by economic agents and those formed in schools; the developed language skills help overcome language barriers; developing self-confidence,adaptability and responsability increase the chances of employment; use of Europass and ECVET contributed to generalization of the transfer and cross-border recognition of qualifications; teachers use the skills acquired abroad to engage students and to improve their performance and reduce school leaving rates.
Disseminating our experience to other VET teachers, LTM contributed to the increase the number of highschools in Galati that applied in 2016 for mobility projects Programme E+.
