Within the metal sector there is a new reality marked by the globalization of the economy. These changes have stimulated the organizational flexibility and the appearance of lineal structures in which the functional mobility and employability (flexibility) are basic. In this new scenario, metal workers have to develop a range of skills and competencies related to innovation. These competences are usually acquired through informal processes. As a result, "which is not measured, is no value".Therefore, people need to capitalize and transfer to work situations these informal competences acquired during the socialization process. Therefore, organizations, and in particular metal SMEs, need materials and tools to help them meet the challenges of a new society: the constant change and innovation.
