PROJECT
FINISHED
Our project, called "Sharing experiences in CLIL" is based on the need that our school has to improve the application of CLIL methodology (Integrated Content and Language Learning). Sagrada Familia School considers learning a foreign language as a priority and has therefore adopted different innovative methodologies in this regard, with the CLIL methodology as a major. The work done by our school regarding this methodology extends to subjects as Science, Arts and Craft or Computer Science in different grades of primary school. Therefore, our aim in this project is to put in contact our school with another of similar characteristics from a different European country to do a period of observation (job-shadowing) of the teaching methods that this school applies regarding CLIL methodology. By doing this, it is intended that the teachers participating in the project (6 teachers from our school) will exchange knowledge, will relate to teachers from other European countries and will reflect on their own teaching practices as a result of the observation. All this will be done in two visits to our project partner school where a reduced group of teachers will perform a period of observation for week long. The results to be achieved with this project are clear, as not only will be useful to improve our teachers' implementation of CLIL methodology, but it will be also a motivation to continue exploring innovative teaching methodologies in second language teaching. This project aims to apply the acquired knowledge and observe whether learning outcomes are improved by the application. As a result, the positive impact this project will have on the educational quality of our school is evident and, hopefully, this only will be the start of a longer period of cooperation with the partner institution which can allow both centers to nurture from each other's knowledge to be shared in the future.
