Comparability and Quality Assurance in European Greenkeeping Education (Green QAmpus)
As the new members of the European community continue to develop and grow so does the number of people entering into the golf tourism industry. Furthermore, the vast majority of these new employees do not have any relevant education or training. Thus, the work undertaken previously in Green-e, sought to provide an education framework (Pan European Standards) in order to improve skills/knowledge to a level accepted as the norm for the sector in established markets. EC policy encourages development of sustainable practices in the land based sector including the golf industry, and it is the purpose of the project to contribute to agenda by design, test and implementation of a Quality Assurance framework monitored by the European Golf Education Unit (EGEU) that shall ensure standardization of golf education which enhances the employability of individuals and provide global recognition of qualifications. The importance of work of project to economies of individual countries cannot be ignored. The industry in Scotland contributes €240million annually to economy and provides over 7000 jobs. Proportionally, this represents significant income to economies of new countries involved in the project.Green QAmpus project includes 8 partners from 5 European countries: FIN, UK, EE, LT and CZ. Some of institutions have vast experience in transfer of innovation and LLP. Group will make a significant contribute to VET systems in partner countries by building upon good work done in the previous Green-e project, and will continue to foster already existing open, collaborative and supportive environment amongst which exists in partner group. Results of this project will be based on research methodology, reporting, collection of data, development and testing, training, analyzing and validation of results and dissemination. Through project, a robust Quality Assurance framework, which will be scaleable and transferrable to suit the Ministry requirements of each country, will be offered to new and existing staff within the Golf Tourism in order to enhance work in sector and to gain relevant qualifications with recognition and increase their mobility across Europe.Systematic series of dissemination and exploitation of results events will be to achieve the specific objective. Project will, with work already undertaken previously, have major impact on the VET programs in each partner country.
