Communication is an important skill which is needed in order to get employed, as you have to explain to your possible employer why you are the best choice. One can be smart and creative, but if they cannot show and express their skills and qualities, a possible employer in unable to see them. The purpose of the activities from our project is to make the young people involved learn how to communicate and express their ideas and opinions clearly through different ways. They will be able to behave both as leader and as a simple “listener”, bringing them an advantage over others. They will become receptive and inventive, constantly open to novelty, they will have the chance to listen to different points of view, to understand, compare and acquire knowledge that will help them on the labor market. We want to highlight every young person’s skills and the importance of communication because The Romanian Education System does not encourage students to work in teams or teach them to communicate properly. Regarding this project, the goal we want to achieve is the development of communicational skills and personal development, identifying and removing obstacles in order to express themselves better, appropriate use of language in every-day communication while maintaining the receiver’s attention, doing cool activities and interactive ones, expressing ideas fluently.This will bring them great advantages accessing the labor market. In the first 2 days we will use ice-breakers in order to release the tension within the group and form a bond between its members, then, focusing on our goals, we will introduce a number of non-formal methods based on communication. We will discuss the programe of the exchange, talk about fears and expectations We will have get to know each other games workshops on breaking barriers in communication, on assertive communication; the last one with the support of a psychologist .We will invite a specialist from the part of University of Pitesti to talk about communication and the labor market. We will tackle together as a group all the issues of communication, in a second intensive day that aims at helping us to define what we want to achieve in the following days. During days 3 (in our new location the youth camp from Nucsoara) we will discuss about “How a proper CV should look!”, we will have “Social Media and Labor Market Workshop!” and ”How to present yourself to an interview!”. Using a Theater forum that the youths themselves will prepare, as well as workshops on how to take a stand and make your own decisions, youth will be prepared to communicate better with greater confidence in their own powers. The workshop on ,,Social Media and Labor Market!,, workshop is aimed at showing young people that besides entertainment, the Internet and social networks can be used to increase the chances of young people of getting a job or building their own business. At the end of the 3rd day a workshop called Back to Back! Let s act! , will be a moment three days in fact: in the first day we started to learn about what we ll be doing, in the second tackled with barriers in communication and the importance of communication in career; now in the third day we started to consider on how do we present ourselves using our CV, appearance, social media network, verbal and nonverbal attitudes In day 4 we will continue to reflect in a creative way on the best way to present ourselves, on potential challenges of communication. The day will start with a creative games session for unleashing creativity and ideas, and will continue with the staging of a forum theater play that will deal with discrimination of young people on the labor market by employers. This day, with the support of a therapist youths will organize and attend workshops on creativity and assertive communication, with the final goal of designing a theatre forum play on discrimination of young people on the labor market. The workshop ,,Creativity unleashed,,! will tackle with issues such as what can we find out about ourselves by communicating; aggressive, passive and assertive communication; Exercises on communication styles; Me and the voices from my past! Creative writing exercises! Creating stories and lyrics on the basis of key words! Another workshop - Creativity and performance,! will include subjects such as: Tehniques to improve memory and attention; Body Sculpture and Drama Th This project idea did not come out of nowhere. In 2013 our organization participated in a youth exchange through the Youth in Action Program. The project was named “Youth Unemployment: Lost and Found” and was a partnership with Youthfully Yours, a Greek youth NGO and Scoop Welzijn as a coordinating Dutch youth organization with whom we had some interactions before. Then, we discovered that youth unemployment is a major problem in the EU mostly caused by the lack of work experience and also by the lack of communication skills, hence the idea of this project.
