The 9 month EVS project in Kuldiga Technology and Tourism vocational school in cooperation with Ukrainian NGO Stella from Kharkov, will host one volunteer for the period from September, 2016 until May, 2017. Venue: Kuldiga, Latvia.The aim of the project is to promote the use of foreign languages and intercultural communication through use of non-formal education and develop students creativity in the study process of Kuldiga Technology and Tourism Vocational schoolThe main tasks in the project:1. to maintain the cultural heritage of the country and the region and contribute to its preservation;2. encourage young people to a healthy lifestyle is inherent: organization of different sport events like a cycling, sport competition in nature, talking about dangers of smoking, drugs and alcohol, proper nutrition;3. to deepen communication between students: team building games, scientific games, quiz, guests, etc.;popularization intercultural communication: music and dance festivals, gastronomical festivals, dramatic events about different culture and historical facts;4. to help students to find new ways to self-development at school and at life;5. to use interactive learning technology; to organize volunteers' personal project “Touch to science” (scientific visualization processes);6. to organize thematically celebration in Latvia and another culture.7. to bring new ideas in the Student council work.The school will have gained a new experience in collaboration with EVS performers, new teaching methods, which are useful not only in non- formal environment, but also allows you to enrich the schools'', as the formal learning environment , everyday life with interesting activities. The project experience will contribute to young people's desire to participate in non-formal training. The future benefit would be voluntary engagement of youth project planning and implementation. School capacity within non-formal education will be increased.The result will be a new experience the EVS participant - acquainted Latvian culture, language, traditions, new friends and opportunities for further cooperation. The volunteer will be more self confident, more flexible and open minded to the changes, changes towards daily habits, social life, cultural expression, points of view of each individual and her ownThe benefit of the project on European level will be expanded horizons for young people, to the knowledge of the possibilities for the performance of EVS that will allow other young stress-free use of the EU mobility program opportunities.On the level of the sending country Ukraine - the experience and conclusions done by the volunteer in the hosting country will be implemented in the work with Ukrainian youth and students in particular in order to motivate them for active participation, discussions, creativity and seeking for new project oppotunities for them to go abroad and wider their perspectives for life.
