Collaboration for Equality of Chances in Multiethnic Cross-border Education (CESEMT)

University of Oradea and University of Debrecen collaborated in order to create joint programs that have as goals the development of those skills that address intercultural education and education for tolerance in the communities belonging to the multiethnic groups of the cross-border area. As a result of the joint analyses, a number of 5 localities from Hungary and 5 from Romania have been selected, with a big number of ethnic groups living there. The partners intend to establish a strategy, on short and long term, regarding the valorization of the folkloric values of each ethnic group, as well as their educational valorization for all cross-border multiethnic groups. A joint training of the students in the two universities was implemented, in order to develop lifelong learning skills that will enable them to use the project's idea in their future. The general objective of the project is the development of interuniversity collaboration for initial and lifelong learning education of the teaching staff.Specific Objectives are the following:-aligning the common curricular standards in the cross-border area;-complementary development of certain methods of achieving cross-curricular education within the multiethnic groups;-the development of professional skills of the educational domain corresponding to the cross-border communities;A number of 15 academic teachers and 50 students - future-to-be teachers – were involved in the project. These persons are the direct beneficiary of this project. Indirect beneficiary are the local inhabitants, the teachers and students from the 10 localities, 5 on one side and 5 on the other side of the border. Project results: working meetings in Oradea-Hajduboszormeny, posters, flyers, DVDs, public meetings, radio and TV shows, web site, books, monographers, booklets, folkloric volumes, collection of dynamic popular games and specific - editions of Romanians, Hungarians, Romanys, Swabians, Slovakians bilingual published, courses for life learning programs etc.
