Our project has been held between 01.08.2015 - 31.07.2016.
Pneumonia, popularly known as “zatürre” in Turkish, a very common disease, which is transmitted through the respiratory tract that may be fatal among the risk groups of patients (children, elderly people, people who has so weak immune system) and it requires a serious treatment.
Pneumonia is an important issue for the world, and is a much more important issue for Turkey. The most important burdens of the disease are higher costs due to the disease, increase in benefiting from the health resources and causing of death. The project that we have has been made beacuse of the lack of provision of health care to pneumonia patients, lack of specific care to these patients in inpatient institutions and lack of trained nurses who could supply treatment for those people. And the project has been completed successfully.
Our participants has learned protection from pneumonia disease in the EU, diagnosis, treatment, nursing care practices, they also had the chance to recognize the roles and responsibilities of nurses of this area, they saw the health education practices, which is given to the society and individuals, in place and they examined the right/innovative/effective practices in place. Also, our participants increased their professional language/knowledge/skills and intercultural communications.
Our project mediated to have ways of prevention of pneumonia at EU level, diagnosis, treatment and specific nursing care practices and knowledge in vocational health education. Our project was carried out to have qualified and equipped nurses in this area and to contribute to their employment.
With our project theoretical information, skills and experiences which are in the EU level will be transferred to our country, progress of the illness will be slowed down, relief will be provided to the patients, their quality of life will be increased, the complications due to the disease will be prevented and Professional health care will be offered.
Through the specific education and training about pneumonia that are gotten in the EU countries CD/DVDs, promotional films, brochures and booklets were created as a model product to use both in the field and in vocational training in our country. We predict that, with the product that has been created both vocational nurses and nurses who work in the field will provide quality health care to the pneumonia patients in the level of the EU, will minimize the side effects of the disease, will increase the quality of life and will reduce the mortality.
