FINISHED
According to appreciative evaluation carried out within our school community and also objective evaluation of third parties, we can confirm that we have successfully started the internationalisation and the transformation of the learning environment. We have developed a platform in relation to Cluster of Pedagogical Innovations for sharing or new methodologies and best practices worked out during the Erasmus+ and other international projects (accessible online at cluster.citadaskola.lv). Thus, we have developed high level skills in sharing new methodologies and cooperating with local and national level. However, we have defined also specific needs in this transformation process in transnational context: 1) a need of a continuous professional development of the school management; 2) hands-on international experience of sharing ideas; 3) a support to move forward from the willingness to share ideas to actually starting doing it; 4) a need of high proficiency of foreign teachers to ensure the international preparedness of the students. According to these special needs on the way of spreading our good practices Europe-wide we find that this Erasmus+ project needed as a follow-up project in order to ensure the long term perspective of the projects and initiatives we have already started. So, the project CLUSTER OF PEDAGOGICAL INNOVATIONS 2.0 SPREADING EUROPE-WIDE will focus on four main areas: to reinforce the development of the Cluster of Pedagogical Innovations (a centre of innovative approaches and training courses created by our school) into a transnational establishment by means of ICT and international networking; to encourage a more efficient European dimension of spreading the ideas and sharing best practises of new methodologies for combating failures in education; to encourage the participants (direct and indirect) move farther from willingness to show it to the actual action and the sharing of their knowledge internationally by improving their language proficiency; to ensure the strengthening of the internationalization process of school methodology and the direct impact on students learning outcomes by improving the foreign language methodology and reinforcing international preparedness of the students. Thus, also the 7 main activities will include structured course participation and job shadowing of 11 project participants that will focus on improving the participant skills in four main areas. Firstly, to ensure a fluent progress and further management of the project in long term aspect our school manager will gain the up-to-date knowledge about recent researches and how to focus on the dynamics of the training establishment, management as well as recognise early signs of teacher burn-out and seek increased job satisfaction in order to prevent possible risks of teachers exit from the participation in the project because of work overload. Secondly, teachers of foreign languages will participate in high proficiency level methodology courses where they will gain the practical skills of delivering internationally recognised subject materials and efficient methodological tools for organising the classroom and developing a syllabus according to the European standards in order to ensure the international preparedness of the students. Thirdly, the teachers chosen for the language courses will improve their language skills along with cultural, economical and social dimension of their knowledge and skills in order to be able to step further on the international level of their shared experience. Finally, during the job shadowing activities the participants will learn new practises of using IT tools for internationalisation and networking, along with the ability to cope are international attitudes, behaviours and approaches in order to focus on a common goal.
