With the prospects of big labs ESS and MAX IV, and the coming need of accelerator technology, companies in the region need to learn how to provide the required technology. To enable companies to compete internationally regarding design, construction, maintenance of high technology accelerator related equipment, close cooperation between Danish, Norwegian and Swedish universities and companies is essential. CATE aims at strengthening sustainable economic growth in the region by contributing to the development of a cluster in accelerator technology. Achievements: Created close contact (through individual meetings) to comapanies with competences important to create an particle accelerator used in ESS and MAX IV and similar facilities. Study visit to CERN and courses have furhermore increased the skills of regional comapnies on the building of an accelerator. Final result -the finalisation of a full scale particle accelerator, is yet to be concluded.
