The project will recognise the role villages and towns play as hubs of rural life and in helping communities to address economic development issues, attract more visitors and work together for a sustainable future by:• Improving the appearance of rural villages along the Ulster Canal Corridor• Invest in new facilities and amenities• Providing training and mentoring for business and community groups. • Marketing and Publicity of rural villages and towns along the canal corridor. 2. The second aim of the project is to develop the natural resources as tourism amenities. The proposal focuses on the natural beauty and natural resources of the area and harnesses them to act as a catalyst for rural regeneration. This will be achieved through investment in heritage and walking trails and in angling infrastructure in the region. The project will compliment the work of the national agencies and local authority aims in this respect and add value to any work already undertaken.
