PROJECT
FINISHED
From the 24th of November until the 2nd of December 2015 the Foundation Golwitz (Brandenburg an der Havel) will organise a German-Ukraine youth exchange project for 24 young people round about 16 years old, three trainer and three accompaniing adults/teachers. The binational project Clips for mire respect is about protection of young people against rassism, the appresiation of diversity, youth empowerment, motivation for social engagement and civil courage and the training of critical media competences. The idea to this project is based on a concept developed of young people of a former project.
During a two-days preparation meeting in September 2015 we will formulate learning results/outcomes and involve the partners and young participants in the development of the project content.
Racism, discrimination and xenophobiaand wide spread all over Europe and the Ukraine, also within the middle class (Studie of the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation). The reasons are various. Therefore a broad educational approch is necessary. Young people are insecure due to social crisis, and they are easy to adresss and therefore target group of right propaganda. They have to be especially skilled and protected, in order to fight against theses tendencies.
We want to teach the equality af all humans as a universal value and a fundamentalk right of the coexistance of mankind within the EU and beyond. To recognise that and try to reach this target within the social context, young people need a constant moral concept and political conviction. This project will help to develop all this through the Anti-Bias-Methode. THis methode is about tolerance, respect and appreciation of diversity. THis process will be supported by the visit of a NS-memorial, which is situated nearby.
The videos will be shown to political decisionmakers and experts for rassism from Germany and the Ukraine. We want to talk with them about human rights, discrimination, minorities and civic commitment. In a reflective examination of the project we want to foster the critical media competences in relation to social networks. The project will be certificated by the EU-Youthpass in order to document and become concious about the individual learning process . The videos will be published on internet so that other youthprojects can use them for their anti-rasism and anti discrimination work. The project will be accompanied by media-students from the University of Brandenburg.
Another important point of the project is the fostering of the German, European-Ukraine-Relations considering the warlike development in the eastern Ukraine and to the frontiers to Russia. The project sees itself in the sense of participation and european citizenship as an active contribution in the fight agains exclusion, racism and xenophobia and to strenghten diversity and respect within the European Union and beyond.
