The Public Vocational Training Institute in Chaidari, having extended experience in vocational training and education, considers that mobility and lifelong learning provides significant qualities to students and to educators too, offering short-and long-term benefits, not only for them, but also for our Institute.
The students of Photography Department were chosen for the "click"@europe-program, a proposal which was thought and organized by the promotional and active committee of our School.
In the era of Globalization, the new technological means play a dominant role in the progress of modern visual culture. The photography is also a prevailing element in the modern visual culture, either considered as art, or a visual document. In other words, photography has been constantly developing during the past years, up to present and future time, and of course this is an important reason for our decision.
There are 31 participants in total. The students are 29 and 2 educators as supervisors. They are divided into two-14days phases. In particular, there will be 15 students with 1 supervisor in the first phase, while in the second phase, 14 students with 1 supervisor as well.
During the program, the students will do daily practice at workplaces, relevant to the photography field, they will take part in seminars and workshops with the students of the guesting country and they will present the techniques they learn on photography. Moreover, a variety of cultural activities will take place, such as visiting the archaeological and cultural places, the museums, and go city-sightseeing and to near villages.
The participating students, come from different social and economical levels and have different experiences and knowledge. Their participation in the program will offer them a great source of knowledge, experiences, new skills and practices and they will certainly enrich their curriculum vitae. In addition, this experience will provide our students with significant qualities, that they will have the opportunity to use them in their future career.
Therefore, to achieve the best possible organizing of the program, our organization will keep regular touch with the fellow-partner (telephone, e-mail, skype) throughout the program and also after the end of it. Great emphasis will be put on the preparation of our students, so as they will be completely prepared for their participation in the program.
After the end of the program, the School of Chaidari will organize several activities, in order to notify, the results of the program. Specifically, by organizing meetings and workshops at School, all students will be aware of the numerous benefits of participation in such an educational program in abroad. What's more, photography exhibitions, including the works of the participating students, will be organized. Videos and photographies will be uploaded on youtube, as well as newsletter reports will be sent to local and national newspapers. Finally, the results of the program could be included in the European Union's editions.
To sum up, we highly consider that the participants will definitely be benefited from the program, not only by broadening their knowledge on the photography field, but also on a wide cultural level. Thus, it will contribute to the understanding of the common European culture and identity and also the multicultural dimension of the modern "global village".
