CLARET - Computer Learning for Aquatic Renewable Energy Technologies

The objective of the project is to develop and provide online e-learning resources for current and future employees in, or working alongside, the aquatic renewable energy sector. The e-learning modules will focus on aquatic renewable energy technologies enabling the comparison of the procedures and environmental framework for setting up offshore wind, wave, tidal stream or onshore hydro renewable energy schemes in the participant countries. The content will be structured on three levels of complexity and on different educational topics in a matrix type structure. The self-direct learning, problem-centred environments, collaborative learning and quality assurance instruments will all be employed in the development and design of the modules. The products will appeal to local and national government personnel who administer energy programmes, energy advisors, planners and professional providing training and consultancy in order to establish a broad and deep understanding on the effective management of this new industrial sector. They will also be able to evaluate their understanding and simulate their own aquatic renewable energy site.
