City of Youngsters- trilateral youth exchange 1.-7.9.2014, Murcia, Spain
Partners: Finland, Spain, Norway, 35 participants
Theme: Youngsters' City, made from the youngsters' point of view, as well as their opinions
*environmental issues , creativity
*active participation of young people
The project is a result from a partnership building activity in Finland, where three youth workers met and the idea of making a first ERASMUS+ youth exchange came out. Participants of this exchange are youngsters form Norwegian and Finnish youth houses and Spanish environmental organisation. The idea of the exchange is to create the city of youngsters by using the ideas and skills of each participant. During the week we are instructing wokshops on the theme and by the end of the week we will perform the city of youngster s in the local community by making a play of what we created.
The collaboration is European and everyone's points of view will be taken into considerance, for example when adjusting laws/rules for the city. What kind of things are brought up in the city of youngsters, what kind of values and laws there will be? The material can be theoretic, which will be worked into a joint whole. Groups can sculpt their own way of presentation, which will be introduced later in the fial performance.
Our goals for this exchange include getting to know the cultures, learning a bit of the language and getting to know the youngsters there. Our theme is the City of Youngsters, which we plan to carry out by using art, dance, group activities and conversations. Some of the planned activities are team building games, different workshops and presentations. We aim to achieve a new kind of perspective towards youth exchanges, learn tolerance and possibly make new friends. We use outdoor activities, environmental education too, as those are the skills that participants have.
Basic activities will be influenced by what young people want, the idea behind it is a desire to develop young people's leadership skills, commitment and motivation. Develop cooperative ability, respect for others and tolerance for inequality.
Each organisation takes responsibility for the activities we are responsible for, helps others and is flexible in terms of another thing`s that may pop up. The aim is to start a long term collaboration between Spanish, Norwegian and Finniah youth organisation and bring the international youth work and its possibilities to the youth houses.
