We will address the issue of culture in the European citizenship of young people in our project. How young people live their dual loyalties (Belgian-Moroccan youth in connection with immigration Moroccan, the Youth from Reunion in connection with the African and French culture). This is a project that places the young in a questioning phase. How to live a fulfilled citizenship with these various cultural components? How can they actively take place as a European citizen? We believe that strengthening European citizenship is a resource that can unite young people from different cultures. This project touches forty young boys and girls with different profiles (professional or wandering school leavers, with socio-economic barriers and various religious denominations). The initial context was the attacks of Charlie Weekly, the one of the “Kosher” grocery and those of November 2015. We asked young people about the place of religion in citizenship, we conducted a research on the monotheistic religions to go to meet each other and we addressed the issue of European citizenship as a common base for all. Our methodology is to place the young people at the center of all the dynamics, to question them by going out to meet "the others" and their differences. During this project, young people from both countries will participate in four workshops of expression (writing, theater, video and painting) that illustrate the cultural visits during the exchange. The initial question is "European Citizenship, Culture and how to reconcile with modernity. We hope to stimulate our young people and to involve different actors by addressing their fears, their questions about the future and about the place as the young European citizens have. We hope to foster their critical spirit, their argumentative skills, work on the positive and to out off this “culture of failure”. There will also be meetings with political representatives, religious cults responsible for feeding our workshops of expression. The video workshop will film the meetings, workshops, questionings of our youth and the evolution of mentalities.
