l social circus is an innovative strategy of social and community intervention expanding in many areas of education and psychology around the world. Based on the practical teaching of the various circus disciplines (juggling, acrobatics, aerial, balance, clown, etc.), social circus is focused on populations marked by situations of social vulnerability, such as children at risk of exclusion, disability, women victims of violence, prisoners or persons with drug problems.The Social Circus is based on major theoretical and practical experiences and as the Socio-Cultural Community Cultural Development and reflections. In both, as in the social circus, art and popular culture play a key role in the acquisition of empowerment that helps facilitate social transformation processes.From this perspective, teaching and practice of the various circus disciplines are not an end in themselves; that is, the main objective is not the technique and perfect execution of juggling, acrobatics and balances they have learned, but what matters is the integral development of the person, because in the social circus attention, self-esteem, perseverance trains , trust in others, ability to cope and the acceptance of failure among others.The various disciplines that make up the art of the circus, featuring an artistic and creative space allowing reflection and expression of the aspirations, criticism, wishes and proposals of groups and communities that are usually denied active participation in the discourse political, social and cultural context to which they belong. Thus, the social circus strives for cultural democracy, which through the collective creation and artistic expression in the form of shows and parades, traditionally excluded groups, participate actively and responsibly in the construction of a reality that It can break the social stigma that usually were tagged.
