CAMET focuses on the subject of new media / new technology as a tool in childcare work. Some of the partners were involved in a Leonardo Tranversal project called "Media Playing Communities" (MPC), which created new training materials and methods for this theme; examples are digital photography and video, directly created by young children; simple filmed shows (song and dance) for local use and exchange with partners; direct web-based live link-ups for shared communication and fun. The new partnership will use these resources, and the experience of the other partners, to explore ways to promote vocational training and learning on this subject. The project will: - Build local networks in each partner country, to analyse existing work and bring in the new ideas from MPC - Organise international exchange visits, to provide new learning opportunities, build new contacts, and share best practice across the partnership - Find ways to actively create additional activities in the childcare settings, providing enrichment of the day-to-day work and new hands-on experience for staff and trainees - Use the project to identify and promote additional vocational training opportunities in each area, to motivate participants (whether they travel to other partners or not) to take up VET as a way to develop professionally.
